Tesla sues German auto parts maker over ‘falcon wing’ Model X doors - MarketWatch

Makes me wonder why the German company thought they could perform and why they bothered to outbid other companies if there was even a remote chance they couldn't follow through.

They could have believed in themselves. Maybe they thought Tesla would throw more money at them to improve their part. Maybe they believed Tesla would lower their standards and accept the substandard part.

They discovered that while GM will reduce their standards and accept defective parts Tesla won't and didn't. I'd like to see this case go to trial but it will probably be settled quietly.
