I just thought you guys would enjoy a few shots I took of a Five I parked next to the other day. This really illustrates the difference in wheel well gap between a stock Five with 215/45/17 tires and a TRD lowered Three on 205/50/17s. Wow!

I really need to lower my car after seeing how big of a difference a few inches make.

The ride is a rougher than with the 15" tires but not much different than the 215/45/17s. Most 205/50/17s are XL tires so I expect the ride to be rougher but the little bit of extra sidewall evens things out a little. I think the biggest difference in ride will be seen with tire model choice.

Does the lip of the fender rub the tires when you have a load on it?

Nope. Not at all. I even hauled a 100lb gasoline generator out to one of my preserves last week and I didn't rub. I think it would take a lot of weight to cause any rubbing. I'll take a look again but I think the tires would tuck into the rear wheel well if it came to that but it would be close.

With the TRD springs, can the front bumper clear parking blocks when you pull into a park spot?

I don't think so. It would be close. I'll check the height and see. I am so used to driving lowered cars that I NEVER pull forward on parking blocks or curbs. :)

My rear tire is within the wheel well so if the suspension sagged really bad the tire would tuck inside the well. I am running a 7" wide wheel with a 45mm offset.

Just ribbing you cause I know you can take it lol. Yes, judicious use of products with questionable environmental impact is appreciated to go easy on the environment and all. ;)

Dude I hate to be a copycat, but I have looked at these pics 100 times, and now I pulled the trigger and have the same goodies on their way to me to fancy up my 2011 blizzard pearl. I've wanted to do 17's for a while now, and this setup just looks sooo good! I appreciate your reviews, write-ups, and the pics!

No worries man. I sold that car. Besides, as I've said before. I feel that is how the car should have came from the factory. It's OEM fresh! hahaha

My Persona is the same, 4x4'in! I think part of it is springs aren't settled or broken in yet? Look forward dropping in TRD's.

I would think even non dropped Prius are close enough not to try.

I was able to clear parking blocks and curbs with no problem prior to the spring installation. Not so much now..:ROFLMAO:

Nope.. you just have to know how to take the approach. Besides, this drop is rather mild compared to my other cars.

Yesterday I seen someone with a new '13 Liftback kill their front bumper on a curb with ice piled up on it. Prius isn't the lowest riding car out there but people are meatheads and seem to not care about how they park. Sad...
