I went to the New York Auto Show today and stopped by the Chevy display of the Volt. It looks pretty real (like a drivable car), but still looks a little too "concepty" to be something that will go into production in its present form. That being said, however, I was told that GM intends to formally have production vehicles first quarter of 2009. I hope it happens. They are handing out a really nice data sheet. If I have a chance, I will scan it and attach it to this thread.

There was also a really nice looking concept car at Toyota which looks like a coupe version of the Prius. It's a Hybrid as well.

GM had the Volt 10 years ago with the EV1. Check out "Who Killed the Electric Car".
