From Council deliberates vehicle charging stations | News | sanfordherald.com

City council deliberates over installing charging stations.

Duke energy offers $1m NC plan with grants to cities with aim to increase EV charging by 30%. The city (population ~28k) received a $10k grant.

What may be interesting are the costs being considered. Sanford is not a well off city.

    Dual port charging station $6,489.

    Installation $4k-$5k depending on location

    Networking $900-$1200 per year

Networking with Chargepoint – free for the first year $560 per year thereafter

    Energy meter $30 per month

Mentioned in the article that there are 23 electric vehicles in Sanford. 1400 in Wake County (Raleigh) and 600 in Mecklenberg County (Charlotte) with 100 in Moore County. Growing 30% per year
