They didn't show a picture so i'm having a hard time picturing this, but "the meter's blue rings correspond to the average fuel consumption figure, the brightness of the rings change depending on the level of efficiency during the drive"
    How cool does that sound.

And oh, oh, oh do i wish the Prius had this:
    ECO HEAT/COOL BUTTON
"when engaged, the system allows the engine to shut down when stopped under a wider range of driving conditions for greater efficiency and reduced emissions. it does this by reducing heater and a/c output"

And NO FUEL BLADDER (same system as the HiHy- airtight metal fuel tank)

Would that be heated seats? Heated LEATHER seats? And a leather steering wheel?

This could be a car my Mother could love.

She is not so happy with the Caddy any more. They just put over $600 into the engine and then the car got hit in the parking lot and there's minor body damage that's another 1200.

Does it say anything about seat adjustments? Programmable or height, tilt, etc?

    Here are a few things:
    Standard
JBL premium AM/FM/MP3 6-disc changer with bluetooth, 8 speakers, 440-watt output
    Optional
NAV with JBL premium AM/FM/MP3 with 4-disc changer, BT, 8 speakers and 440W output

Does this meant that when you add NAV you loose 2 CDs?

    Also:
    Fuel economy
43/37, 40 combined (preliminary EPA estimate)
    Capacity
    Fuel tank: 17.1 gal

700 miles on one tank? For me, that would be a refill every 17 commuting days. Three weeks if driving alone, more than five when carpooling.

    Lastly:
    Thanks G!

So basically the ECO HEAT/COOL button is similar to us turning off the A/C at lights to stop the engine from running and turning it back on when the light goes green (in the winter).

The cool thing is that the MFD is standard, not optional. Also, galaxee, if you've ever been in the new IS, that's probably what they're talking about. The new IS has these rings on both speedo and tach. I'll use the tach as an example. If the tach approaches the redline, it goes from blue to orange and when it's really close to the redline, it turns red. I assume there's some ring of light around the FE needle on the Camry that performs a similar function.

Edit: There's something that still bugs me. It says it has rear disc regenerative braking. The only way this can have it is if it's AWD and so far, Toyota has yet to tell us if it's FWD or AWD.

The person from Toyota we talked to was thinking about $30,000.

Yes, the seats are heated, no there is NO Backup camera. And for those of us in California- the 64 thousand dollar question- NO it will NOT get Carpool stickers...
    Sorry to burst your bubble.

Tideland- think i found the answer to your regen question:

it says there's regen on the front, no mention of rear regen. methinks it's FWD. :)

Nor will it be eligible for them under the new New York law. I'll have to look it up to check VA laws.

I drove a regular Camry once (loaner during recall service). I thought my Prius was the better car.

If they are estimating an EPA rating of 40 mpg combined, that means real-world 35 combined, or 10 (?) less than the Prius.

Yep, I'm still driving the better car.
