Bad news for people interested in quirky electric vehicles. After years of development, and a few prototypes sold to their 'early adopters', it was just announced that Green Vehicles, of California, is closing their doors.
They had just moved into a bigger factory/building last year.

It's too bad they're quitting, but their web site did not inspire confidence.

It was a rather cutesy website, neat graphics but short on real data.

You're still holding on to the Zap?

They can't compete with Leaf, MiEV, iQ EV or Focus EV.

My summer hiking in Canada is fast approaching, but as soon as I get back I am going to sell the Xebra. It's redundant now. The EV Porsche will also be for sale. I'd like to end up with just the two cars: Prius for road trips and when I park at the airport or need cargo or passenger space, Tesla for everything else.

The vehicle could compete, but their engineering, manufacturing and management teams didn't have the money or manpower that the big boys do (Nissan, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Ford). It was an interesting design.

I can't see how they could with the size of the car for the price.
