    so the japanese prius is in a new blue color, at least that's what i see on their website.

    this is different from the rest of the world's seaside blue.

    my question is, will we (the rest of the world) ever get the newer (COOLER) blue? =)

    btw, here it is: http://priuschat.com/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=1035

    It is a gorgeous shade of blue. PC user skijapan has a Prius in that color, it's gorgeous! I think it's called Blue Mica, but I could be entirely wrong.

    What I don't understand is why they cant make a navy blue?!!?!?!? I would get that in a second! Like the dark navy blue BMW has. It would be gorgeous in the Prius!!! Too bad :(

    They've had it since 2003, and it's not seaside blue going by the dealer color code. I think Europe? gets this blue also, and it's called Executive Blue, or something.

    I also want the 7 spoke wheels!! I've seen these wheels in several Pruis advertisments and don't understand why they are not an option in the US. Why don't they have the weird plastic rims? What gives with those? Do they save on drag or something?

    the NA wheels are supposedly more aerodynamic than the Euro-spec wheels, like what 1 millionth of a mile to the gallon, plastic rims came off after about 1 week. To get back what you lost taking them off move the chin spoiler forward 2 inches. Makes for better tracking anyhow. I don't think the Toyota rep liked my answer to his remark about better aerodynamics.

    Yeah, for the '04 and '05 models, that blue was only available in Japan. I think the paint code is 8M6

    The JDM and Euro wheels are 16"x6" and also have a plastic cover
    [attachmentid=1137]

    and without the cover
    [attachmentid=1136]

    The reason they aren't on the North American Prius is due to the lack of appropriate sized tires available for sale here.

    That blue, which many here would like, can be seen on the "Color Codes" thread in the Knowledge Base Articles forum. They didn't make very many of them. I've only seen one.

    Let's be sure we're talking about the same thing.

    I'm talking about Brilliant Blue Pearl, as noted by Frank above, and which you can see in the thread referenced by me above. It's code # 8K8, different from the code which wilco thinks might be 8M6, and which is shown in the Japanese pics. The Gen 1 Prius I see of that color belongs to someone in Davis, 12 miles from me.
