    I had the win 10 update prompt switch from polite to its-happening-at-10-pm mode, maybe two months back. After a day or two of this I lucked into uninstalling the nonsense, using a step-by-step I found.

    It took concerted hours to accomplish, got rid of the win10 update icon in system tray, and silenced the pop ups.

    About a month since, I got an isolated pop up, of the polite variety, and the update icon in system tray is baaak, so I guess the tug-o-war is not over yet.

    I like 10, the beta was not nice, almost impossible to turn off the computer, but the everyday release works well and blocks all the funny little programs that take control of win7 every other minute

    msconfig, and destroy anything you see that opens itself to get rid of win10 prompts, if you insist on suffering with win 7 or 8 or vista,ugg

    On win10 we are having problems with the wireless connection. I'll have to look into downloading drivers for my wireless adapter. We got a third party adapter because the built-in wireless has trouble holding the connection, so now that is what we are back to.

    Just because W10 is the best choice for you doesn't mean that it is for everyone. That's one of the perks of free will.

    The passive aggressive comment about older MS OS'e's causing one to suffer is not warranted & unneeded. Please respect others choices as they will likely respect yours.

    My computer also automatically updated to win10 when I went to bed and left the computer on to finish a scan from Norton 360...

    Totally pisses me off.

    I can't reverse it.

    And I DON"T want to have my stuff in the cloud.

    I got 'hit' by the auto-10 update. Pulled the LAN cable and shut down the notebook. Scram the control rods!

    On restart I had a Chinese reader on hand to help me prevent further attacks because that part of my (windows7) control panel is ... er... not in English.
