    There have been a number of movie threads in this forum lately, but none for The Smurfs...until now.


    So, I guess my question is: who the hell is going to see this steaming pile of dog droppings? I certainly am not!

    I have no interest. Maybe, when it's out of the theaters and playing on basic cable, in about a month, I'll give it a try. But I won't pay for it.

    I confess, I took my DD8 and my EXWK2* to see this movie last weekend. That little two year old postponed her nap just so she could see the Smurfs up on the giant screen. The movie from an adult viewpoint? Well, it isn't really great but the kids loved it.

    *EXWK2 = Ex-wife's Kid

    Well I am 44 so I do not think I am the target audience. I saw part of a trailer for it on tv and it did not interest me at all.

    HEY! I'm 45 but my daughter is 8... I waited until I was old enough to understand parenthood before having her. She keeps me young when it comes to movies. I even know who Hannah Montana is and Wizards of Waverly Place.

    Actually, like the Shrek movies there are many double references that the little ones don't get. I saw many parents laughing at different points. I love under the radar adult humor that is slipped into the kids movies.

    Do what I do - when I want to see, say, a new Pixar movie I go on an weekday afternoon matinee. Not only is it usually kid-free, it's usually adult-free, too.
