I've got to replace the rear rotor on my 2012 Prius. Assuming the rotor doesn't come right off, does someone
know the size of the thread in the holes in the rotor ? You can use these threaded holes to push off the
rotor from the hub. Thanks for the help.

    NutzAboutBolts,
Thanks for the size. I'll make sure I have some handy before I start. Thanks again for the size (and the videos)

1" thread length should do. My experience: the holes were very rusted, making me wonder if I had the right thread. I found just screwing them in to were they're really stopping, then backing them out and blowing out the loosened rust scale, and repeating: after 2~3 times I got them through.

I bought mine at Home Depot fwiw.

Thanks for the tip Mendel. I wonder why all rotors don't have the threads to help removal of rusted rotors.

Honda's do too. I first learned about it with our Prius though. Drum brakes have similar.

I've had a couple cars that didn't, though, boy were they fun. And it's worth checking any cheap aftermarket drums/rotors to make sure they didn't leave out that slightly cost-increasing luxury option....
