Have you ever seen the airbox, take it apart and see how restrictive it is and put in something else LOL
Here is my mod---Updated Photos.. now.. where the MAF needs to be.. no more then 2 inches from the Throttle..same position as the stock box is cause of vac pressue would not be enough if its farther away

You should point to somewhat smaller pictures, as what you've
got take a long time to load.
    .
Did you have to do anything special to the interior of the pipe
where the MAF is mounted, or does it work as is simply stuck
into the stream as it looks like you have it?

How does it work? How does it sound? Do you think it improves performance or economy? Where did you get the parts? What is the part number/price for the components?

Believe me, I appreciate the great pics, but some info would be GREAT! I've built similar mods on a couple of cars with good results.

How much flow do you need for a 1.5L Atkinson cycle engine? How do you know that the stock intake is restrictive?

If you want to see how restricive the thing is then take apart your filter and chuck the crappy airfilter away also and k & N the sucker

I will post the new pics too

    LOL

Will get part numbers to who want them as you get MORE MPG cause complely less restrictive and SUCKS HOT air in .. for less dense Fuel mixture= mpg gains instead of Cold Air Interior.

Now as for the pics I did down size it.. but your answer to that is GET A 4mbs download then LOL
I have no problem, them come right up.

Where the MAF sensor it is moded with a tube so it can detect it .. I will get into that later but for now looking for more responses LOL

More hp/ Torque and sounds NICE and loud .. vroom vroom LOL

Is this going to void your warranty?

The reply makes sense, this is going to be ALL about looks, no improvement in MPG, HP, Emissions, etc.

Looking at "how restricive (sic) the thing is" isn't meaningful without measurements. Likewise with the air filter.

If they don't add measurably to ICE inefficiencies then it doesn't matter what they look like. If they do, one has to wonder why Toyota would miss this easy and obvious method of extracting more efficiency when so much time and expense has gone into exactly that?

If the stock system produces some restriction, Toyota did so for one reason: noise. Many manufacturers give up the best flow in order to quiet four cylinder intake honk (a particularly difficult noise to tune out). I've always seen an improvement in mileage when installing a free-flow system with a cone-type filter (having done so on a number of vehicles).

How much flow do you need for an Atkinson cycle engine that purposely holds the intake valves open for a longer duration and pushes some of the intake charge back through the intake during the engine cycle?

Good luck trying to get any kind of warranty work done with a STOCK car. With this thing on (and I'm not saying you shouldn't do it), I'd (only half jokingly) expect Toyota to instantly red-flag you and never honor any warranty on any car you ever buy (or have ever bought) from them.

Do you not know about tuning cars or building them.. Get your facts right

YES IT IMPROVES OVER STOCK filter and or box.. DOESN't void Warranty

Don't take this the wrong way, but are you people not thinking? COme on.. like dah most cars there built for inefficiency.. to a point

MORE AIR FLOW TO THE 2 INCH intake.. = MORE FLOW up to the max that the vac will do.. and if you look at the stock.. the AIR flow is a lot less.. so lets stop being foolish.. I have built other cars.. I know what im talking about

Keep in mind that G2 Prius redline at 5,000 RPM and G3 at 5,500 RPM.

If you want "responses" from people, I suggest you quit being
such a chump and blowing off entirely reasonable requests and
suggestions from people who may not know quite as much about
engine intake tracts as you claim to, but probably know a helluva
lot more about constructing web pages. You are really going at
this in a way that's going to make most people dismiss you as
some kind of crank trying to peddle something on a bogus
underlying premise, when the vast majority of owners are
perfectly happy with their existing intakes as they're
entirely adequate for what the 1.5L Atkinson really needs
to breathe in even under high load.
    .
So how about another try. Present your case *in its entirety*,
including hard data supporting why you think your widget is better,
and try to avoid talking down to your intended audience in broken
english that's just going to chase them off.

Man, the haters are really out in force. If the guy wants to mod his car and show off the nice looking job he did, let him. Especially if he's just going to share the plans/parts....
