    Hello all,

I'm a new Prius owner as of this past Friday-- sold a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder LE (loaded) and dearly miss it-- but don't miss paying $75 for gas every 5 days! haha!!

Got this 2011 Prius III blizzard pearl with Nav/blue tooth JBL, back up camera.

Love this little car! What a cool gadget in itself.

So, I'm finding myself trying to squeeze every bit of economy out of this little car and I'm wondering if anyone has tips (aside from pulse and glide) that will help me...

I have tried the "ECO" button and have tried driving w/o it too and haven't seen too much difference...

    any info is helpful!

    ;)

    Hey there,

There's lots to learn, if you wish. Otherwise, thankfully it drives like any other car.

For the first 600-1000 miles, you want to go easy on the car because that is the break-in period. Especially, you want to go easy on the brakes and the engine.

Also, you want to get used to all the blind spots, including the front one. Yes, be careful around pedestrians because the front A-Pillar can be a major blind spot. You'd want to move your head to see around it.

For me the greatest learning curve was braking and getting used to the regenerative brakes, and where it maxes out.

Please get used to your car before you decide to try any advance techniques. You could find yourself watching the display instead of the road.

At least during the break-in, just drive it normally (stay out of the fast lane).

Good video for beginners is below. In addition, just Google and search on this forum "pulse and glide prius", "warp stealth", and "super highway mode". Basically all you need!

As quick as possible, get some air in those tires.

    Short and simple advice.
