I see Michelin has two energy saver a/s tires that tirerack lists

    P205/60R16 91V and 205/60R16 92H

Price difference is about $19 a tire.

    Car came with P205

    P is metric designation
H and V are speed designations and 130 for the H would be more than a Prius would ever need.
91 and 92 are load ratings.

Limited availability on the P205 has it been discontinued?

My dealer quote was ~$300 for 4 tires higher than a local tire shop I've dealt with and have high confidence in. $$1,030.77 versus $711.66. Every line item on the quote the dealer was significantly higher from tire disposal to shop supplies to mounting to tire. Tires were the same part number 10484.

Price premium illustrates how Dealer overhead spreads to every retail sale on the property.

Think about how the H and V get selected in the factory, the V is the best and the H is "almost" as good. For my money, I want the best between us and the road. If it was three times as much, maybe I would gamble a life changing event.....no.... give me a break... I would not gamble, I would buy the best.

I go all-season 'V'-rated on the v, with 'snowflake'-rated tires for winter use, when I generally try to keep it under 150 mph. (LOL)

Just ordered the P205s. The $75 per tire difference between tire store and Toyota dealer was so pronounced I actually asked the tire store manager to check and make sure he was OK with the price he quoted me. He treated me well in the past, I felt I should do the same. He said he was sure of the tire and the price, I said" go".
