Ecopia 20s can be ordered online from Walmart and Tirerack. Pick OEM MIJ. Those are the best tires for mpg at 40-42 PSI. 42 is the answer to everything in the universe.

Car I traded had 64K and most of the tread left.

Make sure you don't buy a 2016 after you buy the tires.

Goodyear Assurance fuel max at SAMs is another option.

I have good luck with all the OEMs MIJ.

Costco has EP20 too. Actually most places stock, or can order them in. Good for RR, decent road feel, one of the cheaper tires, a known quantity.

Wonder if there are any current test results? That thread seems very old. Set of Michelins wore out early on a Caravan my son has. 8 sets with poor results on numerous cars so far.
I remember when Michelin was the best and Bridgestone the worst. Not true anymore. Hope my special order has Bridgestone MIJ like the other 2016 Touring.

i love the idea about sticky threads for commonly asked questions, but that sticky is very problematic.

the poster in the sticky included the
    Continental PureContact with EcoPlus
based on this, i bought a set and found out they are not really LRR tires, i took a huge hit in MPG, way more that would be expected from going from old tire to new tire. i contacted the poster and he refused to change his recommendation. so, basically he helps to spread misinformation (false advertising).

Found out the hard way myself. Just assumed Michelin LRR was the best. Unless you have tested all those tires at proper inflation levels for max MPG or know a reliable site that has current test results, stick with OEMs. You could do much worse.
At higher pressures the MIJ OEMs have a better ride than any Michelin I have ever owned.

If you run your tires at 36PSI or lower and the car is out of alignment then you will get much faster wear. 40 PSI is my minimum as I may need to have a heavy load from Lowes.
Even all My Honda Hybrids did much better with OEMs. If MPG is not a concern then why would you ever buy a smallish Hybrid. Get a big truck or van and run us off the road. My Dodge Caravan Touring was the most comfortable car I have ever owned. IMHO and does not reflect the views of this TV station.

While we were driving my wife once said: "How about we get some CD's at A&B?", "A&B" being a local record store, now defunct. Made perfect sense, but kind of cracked me up.

I purchased the Ecopia from Costco about two years ago. It is no better or no worse than the original OEM tires. In other words, a safe bet is you are not looking for anything particular in performance. I may consider a different brand only if the price is equal or less than the Ecopia.

Keep in mind there's more to the name than "Ecopia", there's Ecopia EP20, EP422, EP422 plus, EP100.

Ditto, and all have different wear properties, MPG, and places of manufacture. I believe all EP 20s may be MIJ. TBD

Yeah according to Tire Rack the EP20 is made in Japan, and the EP422 plus (in 195/65R15) comes in 2 varieties, different tread, different wear, different max pressure, one from Mexico and one from US. This doesn't seem to be doing the company any favours, causing confusion/consternation for customers?

I will most likely cave and put Goodyear Assurance on my car again. They do well on the hot roads I drive on with the occasional 2 inches of standing water flash flood during the summer months or some snow flurries in the winter. I keep the pressures consistently at 42/40 and I see between 51-54 mpg. Rated for 80K miles and I have gotten exactly that twice now. I'm just not in an experimenting mood.

EDIT: I should have been more specific as to what model or sub-brand I use. The Comfortred Touring is my tire of choice.

Yeah, bird in the hand is worth something. A long mileage tire with good rolling resistance, stick with it.

In 17" our Michelin Pilots roll surprisingly well, better as they age I think. We're at 60,000 km's and 7/32" remaining tread depth. I do swap them out for snow tires in winter, so more like 45,000 kms on the Pilots.

On another note, I had a blowout on the 210 freeway today (it was actually my other car, 2015 Avalon) with only 1950 miles. Bridestone Turanza el400-02, 215 55r17. Got over ok and I dont think it damaged the rim, amazingly. I'm trying to get the dealer to replace it. Talking to them tomorrow.
