Titles not appearing while playing CD player

    I've had my Prius since January and I've noticed that the titles are not appearing when playing a commercial CD.

    Is this a defect in the CD player that should be fixed?

    No, the data is not embedded on the CD. If, however, you use a program like Nero to burn a copy of the CD it will access that info and embed it on the burned copy and the titles will show. I think I've found one of my CDs (non-duplicated) that did show the titles.

    yep that info is not on copies of older music i found out. in fact i must be old because only about 20-30% of mine will show anything. i will say that all of my newer stuff (3 CD's less than 3 years old) have it.
