The Honda Civic is included. No mention of the hybrid version.

The original poster said Honda Civic 4 door, which does include the HCH. As far as I'm aware, they don't decontent the side airbags or the safety cage on the HCH. :)

All 2006 Civics are exactly identical in terms of safety. The HCH is identical to the Sedan in terms of almost everything else, actually -- same interior, same body, etc. So all of the new civics won.

Thanks Kiloran, you may have a good point here.

I had remembered a blurb on saftey from hybridcars.com at:

    http://www.hybridcars.com/safety-size.html

which said "A Honda Civic Hybrid is available with the same safety features and characteristics as a conventional Civic. "

I also had seen another press release at:

    http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories....04227586&EDATE=

which said "all models of the all-new 2006 Civic provide a long list of standard
safety equipment including side curtain airbags, driver's and front
passenger's side airbags with the Honda's front passenger Occupant Position
Detection System (OPDS), active front seat head restraints and a 4-channel
anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD)."

I made the leap that the HCH was included. I can not find where that is specifically stated anywhere, however.

Glad you pointed this out. If it is true, I'm sure Honda won't be shy about announcing it.
