    Hello,

I am in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I am interested in having towing hitch receiver installed. is this something I can DIY? Or can anybody recommend a good shop in this area? Additionally, is it better to visit a Toyota dealer to get this done?

    Thank you,

You can diy a hitch. I have used this one:

    Torklift Eco Hitch
2015 Toyota Prius v Trailer Hitch - EcoHitch

The etrailer site above has a less expensive 1 1/4 lighter versions as well. Be careful of sellers on Priuschat.

It's super easy, just 4 bolts and in Gen2 Prius you have to cut a small slot in underpanel plastic. Prius V might not require that.

Do you need wiring done too?
