For the air filters in a Prius, does it matter whether I use filters from Toyota or are other brand filters ok? (Napa, Purolator, etc). Napa filters are about $10 cheaper per filter than the Toyota filters.

For the cabin filters, there are 2 main variants. Forgo the cheaper white paper type and go for the grey (charcoal) unit that's thicker and looks like cotton. Similar variations exist with the engine filters, and its not difficult to spot quality vs cheap. Where you buy it is not relevant, and yes the Toyota filters are needlessly expensive. (although they are the highest quality) Toyota sources such things from the same makers that the other brands do.
