Is it possible to use Toyota App on their iPhone to unlock, lock, or even start your Prius?

I got a used 2019 Prime. I believe it does all of that. I don't know for sure because it requires a subscription - mainly a cellular data plan for the car that I'm just not convinced is worth it.

I've used it on my 21 Prime when new; free subscription for a year. It was very buggy and operated intermittently. Wasn't going to pay an annual subscription for buggy software; but don't know how well it works now.

PS; A 2017 may only have a 3G connection that Toyota discontinued several years ago. You'll have to go to a dealership and ask. They should know the specifics by pulling up your VIN. You can then ask if it can be modified to communicate - but I have a sneaking suspension that it's going to be cost prohibitive. It'll probably be more cost effective to install one of those new alarm systems that'll talk to your car's CAN bus.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for answering. I love my Prius, but I wish Toyota would have apps that work. I would love to use Google Maps through Toyota Maps, but I just use my phone, as it works with Google Maps and is so much better. I would love to just use my phone and watch to unlock and lock plus start my prime. Maybe some day.

Perhaps something like this will fulfill part of your needs. I know the 2017 wasn't Carplay compatible.

I second that. I tried to get Android Auto to work, but it doesn't work with the "super duper" 11.6" display that my 2019 Prime Advanced model has. Only the Base model 5.6" Toyota is really screwing their owners with their map updates too. If they made it $10-20, I think most of the users would purchase a yearly update. Instead, it's hundreds of dollars and not worth the update. In any case, it'll never be up to date and provide live information like Google Maps. Maybe they could just give up and work with Google to make a way to link the two together instead.

FYI: the Chinese knockoff GPS chip works and is only abut $30.

My 2017 Advanced has an LTE (4G) phone, so the telematics work fine --- as far as they go. I can do things like determine charge level, start charging, or turn on remote A/C, but no remote start or door locking/unlocking or anything else. Also, the big thing for me is that the car finder function has not worked since they moved from the Entune app to the Toyota App some years ago. I had long discussions with the support people about this, and they claimed it was fixed, but it never was. So I just dropped an airtag into the car, and now I essentially have car finder functionality.
