Yeah I'd like to see that TSB too. In what's posted above it says all Toyota and Scion vehicles then in another place the same document says except Prius??? Looks like it was written by the government LOL.

My FJ Cruiser falls under the tsb to allow an xW-20 oil. Considering how badly it shears an xW-30, I'm leery to try that science experiment

The Prius is not covered by this tsb, we're still supposed to use an xW-30.

However, I have been using Mobil 1 0W-20 in my Prius with very good used oil analysis results. In very cold weather, say -30 C and colder, it does seem to gain around 2 MPG. No difference in fuel economy in mild weather

Note that the Prius engine designation is 1NZ-FXE . Is it considered to be part of the NZ series?

    Thanks!
So, if I am reading things correctly, it looks like they recommend the ILSAC GF-4 for the Prius, but still only in 5W-30 viscosity.

Thanks for getting the TSBs in there. I did not see the note on the first TSB with note for Prius. OK continue with 5w30 .

That's how I interpret it. Certainly, in Sacramento, with our hot weather in the summer I think that it is best to stay with 5W-30.
