Strong hybrid and truck sales set the stage for another great year in 2008 [...]

Toyota sold 302 Prius mid-size liftbacks in January, up 175 per cent year-over-year to set a new January record.

The Toyota Camry Hybrid set a new January record, with 328 models sold. That's up 13.9 per cent compared to January 2007. The Camry Hybrid accounted for 25 per cent of all Camry models sold in Canada during the month.

The Toyota Highlander Hybrid enjoyed its best January ever, with 115 models sold, up 64 per cent compared to January 2007. The hybrid version accounted for 19 per cent of all Highlanders sold in January.

Prius sales in Canada up 175% [IMG]. While it is all good news for the Prius community (and perhaps more for our planet) I cannot think about nothing else but.....-> IT'S ABOUT TIME !! :D

What takes so long for my fellow canadian friends to consider buying such a great vehicle ?

(ok maybe the 29,500$CND price vs 21,100$US as something to do about it)

Simple. The 2008 had a price drop.

It's more surprising when you realise that a lotta people imported their Prius and yet Toyota Canada managed to sell so many.

    Well done!
