Just purchased a 2010 Prius IV with Solar Package. The car has 6K on mileage, excellent shape and run like new. It comes with "Toyota Certified with a 7 Year/100,000-Mile Warranty", the sale person ask if I wanted to buy the "Certified Platinum Plan" which also covers 7/100,000- Miles for $2,200. Are these the same warranty, is this a scam or it’s a good warranty and I should invest in it? Thanks for your help.

You need to ask for the info on both they should have something to give you that says what they do and don't cover.

That is WAY overpriced. With only 6k on it you can get the regular new car extended warraty thru here. It's around 1/2 the price you were quoted. go to www.warrantyshack.com and get a quote and details from Troy.

The CPO wrap that is 7/100 can only be purchased at the time of sale. However, you don't need to in this case since the car is still eligible for a new-car Extra Care Platinum policy since its mileage is under 36k.
