Amusing how the tail lights at the end of the camper attachment thing match the look of the OEM lift back tail lights. Perhaps "amusing" isn't the right word for it.

Wait, what? $52,000 for that? Pfffffffft.

I must say they did their best to make an ugly car even more ugly. And succeeded...

(I'm not a Prius owner for its looks :D)

you'd be suprised. i work for a company that makes RTM rooftops for ups/fedex trucks. current model is 20ft long, resin and glass weigh roughly 220lbs.

that "bubble" would like weigh in the range of 150-300lbs, plus supporting structure.

Even if that price includes the car, a really good tent would be more than $51,000 cheaper. Or, you could pay for quite a few hotel stays - not to mention flights and/or cruises - and forget the camping idea altogether.

Well, I like my Prius and all, but I'll stick with my Sprinter based RV...

How is your fuel consumption? I've heard those are remarkable good for their size.

Well, given the load capacity of the Prius, I suspect that the owner of this rig will have to travel alone, without anything but the clothes she's wearing.

Now that's just stupid. WHAT was going thru their heads while designing this absurdity?

Or relatively cheap publicity while giving their design and fab teams practice and insight with non standard approaches.

I'm surprised those wacky Japanese didn't shoehorn in a shower and a toilet that wipes your nice person for you.
