Toyota reports European sales boost (due to Yaris Hybrid)

BURNASTON car manufacturer Toyota has reported a rise in European sales.
The firm said that in the last three months it had sold 13% more cars than compared to the same period last year.
The company, which makes the Auris and Avensis at its Derbyshire plant, said that over the past three months it sold 206,643 cars in Europe, which includes its luxury brand Lexus.
It means that so far this year, the firm has sold 642,543 cars, which is 6% up on 2011.
The company, which is due to start making an all-new version of the Auris at Burnaston this month, has sold 64,768 Auris cars, including 19,076 hybrid versions and 48,667 Avensis cars, so far this year.
Out of this number, in the past three months, Toyota has sold 20,059 Auris cars, of which 5,136 were hybrids and 12,200 Avensis models.

I am posting it since it is due to new Yaris hybrid that hit the streets in past 3 months, with 6 month waiting list currently in some countries. Otherwise, I would expect sales to be down, due to many models being old and replacing in next few months, like Auris, Verso, Rav4... their core models as well as general market in Europe being down.
