    Yeah, I saw the photo, and it was an instant WOW!
    But unless they will make it at least a plug-in version... the hybrid model with 36 MPG Comb is just not going to impress me.

    It is the Crown Estate, the wagon, for those familiar with the Global announcement of the new line up. Outside measurements are a smidge bigger than the Subaru Outback. Interior will be somewhere between the Rav4 and Highlander. Didn't spot a spec sheet at the OP link; those are usually released a little later?

    There is a speculation thread in the Toyota sub forum from the earlier released teaser images. Didn't see the Venza getting cancelled for it.

    sad but true . We tried and tried to wait for a plug in Sienna, but since Toyota failed to secure enough long-term battery contracts we had to go with the 2nd choice, the plug-in Chrysler minivan & its 33ish ev miles. Combined with running gas on rare occasions we end up with a nice average efficiency - on par basically with a prius!

    not too shabby for a 7 passenger nearly 5,000Lb ride

    This cringe-worthy "Effortless Elegance" and "Badge of Brilliance" stuff"; their PR department could use therapy or something.

    I found one dash pic: the hvac controls continue to be jammed into one little unergonomic ghetto, with (as usual) a single, nondescript button requiring multiple pushes (with eyes off the road) to cycle through the vent direction options.

    Does it have a spare??

    Was the crown imported into the USA decades ago? Seems like someone mentioned the crown was called Corona in the USA 1970s & 'crown was a Japanese name for the same thing. No?. the in laws had one of those back then ;

    Apparently someone at Carbuzz talked to a Toyota official and now it’s semi official:
    Toyota Venza Will Die To Make Way For New Crown Signia SUV | CarBuzz

    Venza is a one-off and Crown is part of a family. Toyota is keen on car families over single models. Made on the same line too. Venza is an upmarket RAV4 and slightly more expensive but everything is slightly smaller inside and the Crown Signia is a touch bigger. Funny thing is Carbuzz, thinks the Crown Signia is more of a raised wagon than a SUV.

    That would be fantastic. But if the HEV is priced at $45-55 as I recall reading in another article, it will be too expensive for me if the PHEV version does come to the US market. Especially knowing that it will not qualify for the $7500 tax credit. Plus there will be availability issues just like what happened to RAV4 Prime.

    In any case, I will not be replacing our current vehicle, the 2022 Escape PHEV, for at least two more years, so I have plenty of time to shop around.

    This is hilarious considering Toyota was one of the only automaker still standing tall when the global economy crashed in 2008... Now here we are 16 years later and all the automakers are way better prepared for an economic downturn and Toyota is making giant low mpg junk that no one is going to buy if the price of gas soars at same time the economy tanks again.

    According to the Wiki, it is a smaller sibling to the Crown. The US did get the Crown, and it was the first Toyota here, up into the Corona replaced it.

    The current Venza is a Harrier. The first generation of it was the first Lexus RX. Then models diverged. The gen3 Harrier started using the Rav4 platform, and this in the gen4.
