    Is the toyota service department actually owned and operated by toyota? Is it just operated or just authorized by toyota. can any auto repair shop bill toyota for the services (25,000 mile toyota care).

    Each Toyota dealership service department is owned and operated by that independent dealer, under the guise of "authorized by Toyota". You can have your Prius serviced at any repair shop outside of the Toyota dealer network you choose to do so at your own cost.
