Rumored for awhile and now officially confirmed for 2009, the new car also carries a new series designator (embargo for now). It better be outstanding to compete with the comperably priced, excellent Scion tC and not just a make-work project for charity case Subaru. Should be lots of engine upgrades available from Subie aftermarket if the lightweight drivetrain can handle the stress:

Celica Hybrid! It was my first reaction. This car reminds me of my previous car (Celica). This hybrid sport coupe is exactly what I imagined.

It has a lot in common with the Celica.

    - Weights about 2,400 lbs
    - Price around $18k
    - Hatchback

Now that I have the Prius, I don't think I will go back to a coupe again. I have to see when it comes out.
