    "...now uses a lower-viscosity oil."

I thought the gen3 was already using 5w20.

I don't think this is considered "advanced" these days - everyone is doing i

advanced... if this were the 1950s

How does that bloated Mercedes C-class have a better Cd?

o_Oo_Oo_O Seriously? There're touting a postage-stamp-size screen that is smaller than what comes with the absolute bottom of the bucket kias and chevies? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

even mazda 3s have this these days.
    way late to the party

Toyota's technology is hopelessly out of date and the dang car hasn't even been released yet. What a complete joke.

It may be out of date, the point is Toyota is bringig this tech to the masses and it also works very reliable. Tesla, Mercedes... systems may be more advanced, but they are also very expensive and not afordable to every one.

As for Mercedes low Cd, they cheated, there was comapriosn with Tesla, Volt and Prius, search it.

Yes the tech has seemed to have reached the Prius a little late, but maybe Toyota waited until it functions reliable!
Systems like road sign assist or automatic high beam were more or less useless when they first entered the market .
Even on BMW or Mercedes vehicles .
When the high beam detected a road sign the system was misled by the reflection of the sign thinking it was an upcoming car and turned high beam off .
    It was useless !

Well, Toyota couldn't come out after all this time and say "we have caught up on some things". Not a huge marketing hit. The double-wishbone really did make me chuckle though :)

I hear the next generation Prius v will have a rear cargo light :::::grin:::::

IMHO rear wishbone is a gimmick. Gen3 handling issues were result of front de-tune and high center of gravity. They could have fixed those and left rear alone

Quite correct. That next step beyond "introduction" is "maturity". It's too bad so many focus on just the latest & greatest. Most people are not early adopters.

    It's not a marketing gimmick, it's a way to integrate E-four.

What systems are talking about here? In regards to active safety and collision avoidance, Subaru's seems to be the best. While it may not be available on the base trims, the brand isn't a luxury one.
But not for the US.;) I may be wrong about this, but don't independent rear suspensions take up some cargo space?

I get that it is not a new innovation, but what makes it "hopelessly out of date"?

It doesn't have an autopilot that tries to kill you.
