Transfer Hov Stickers?

    Is it true in California you can transfer HOV stickers. Today at the Toyota dealership the salesmen said you can get the stickers for 4k and transfer it a 2008 Prius through the DMV. Completely legal? Or does this salesmen not know what the heak he's talking about??

    This is the correct answer.

    A salesman (salesperson to be PC) will say pretty much anything they think will sell a car. However, you cannot transfer the HOV stickers from a car, even if the car is totaled. The sticker is tied to the VIN number of the car.
