It seems that the Prius can do really well in hills if they are steep enough for WS. These data only contain highway speeds, not ramps, tolls, or other approaches. The terrain shown covers the state border of MD on I-95 until the I-895 exit to Annapolis.

Note that the end point is 60 ft lower than the starting point. However, since the outside air temperature was ~95 F, A/C was set to auto at 79 F and recycling. Tire pressure at 44 psi.

It seems that the Gen II can do a little bit better than 60@60 in instances where WS can be applied.

Sure a 50 mile trip is not particularly long, but it's long enough to realize the influence of terrain on mpg.

And some evidence I won't show data for: The cruise control was at least as good as I was during a 60 mile distance that contained continuous slight hills which are not suitable for WS.

61.7 MFD mpg over 23.4 miles at an average speed 65.20 mph with A/C set to 75 F. The trip started from the Baltimore 95 and ended in the DC 495 Beltway. As you see at 80 mph top speed I was not shy with the gas pedal...
