I've got a 2008 Prius with about 250,000 miles (hoping to at least hit 300k), and while my son was driving it today the red triangle came up, and the little car icon with exclamation point, and he said the engine wouldn't turn on and it just drained the hybrid battery and died. I had him power the car off and on, and he said it started charging, but the ICE wouldn't start when he was driving, just the battery.

I went to pick him up, and after turning the car back on, the ICE worked and I drove it home (about 2 miles) without issue, just a bunch of warning lights. If it weren't for the warning lights, it would have felt normal to me.

I have codes P2103 (Throttle actuator control motor - circuit high) and P0A0F (Hybrid drive system - engine failed to start) ... and P0420, but we don't talk about that one...

I have received P2103 in the past year and cleaned the throttle body thoroughly and it eventually went away, but I'm wondering if it is time to replace the TB. Are there other tests I can run first? I'd hate to put a refurb TB in only to learn it is the ECU.

With P0A0F showing up at the same time, does that help point me in a direction for diagnostics?

    Thanks!
