Funny how predictably all of Trump's alliances end up going in this direction. What's even better is Trump was dumb enough to think he could wipe out the entire government's ability to function with a single bill in the legislature rather than hundreds of separate bills. Walking this back and breaking it up probably will take all Summer and substantial work getting done probably won't happen until August when the government runs out of money again. And at that point how much money will Elon have spent to line up new GOP leaders to replace Trump? Sure would be fun if they ended up destroying each other.

Actually Trump deserves all the blaim. The trade war, the giant give away to billionairs, the doubling of the debt in 10 years (yeah I know they only talk about how much extra this bill adds to the trajectory). The president should not have given a guy taking all those drugs access to our data. He definitely should not declare and emergency that requires america goes bankrupt and those making over $1M/year get a big tax break.
We are talking about Trump here—an absolute know-nothing with his only skill being showmanship, which is enough to deceive his devoted supporters.
I don't think anyone needs to give musk a pass, but lets look at what is going on here. Trump is going after tesla, which IMHO is a great american company, because its CEO oposes the terrible titanic bill to bankrupt america. It would be fine to decrease EV subsidies, but going after companies because their CEO disagrees with an awful policy to make them conform and be silent is unamerican. It is why trump is going after harvard, and columbia. It is why trump is attacking judges. Anything Musk did wrong here was to help trump. What trump is doing is attacking the US space program, and the transition to electric vehicles in order to silence objections to a very bad, terrible, awful bill.
but it's all munks fault that these things are happening. he played his hand, and is getting what he deserves. as a certain member likes to say, 'play stupid games, win stupid prizes'. of course they are both at fault. trunk is obvious, and has been forever. munk, for all the good things he has done, has a dark side which became more and more obvious long before he cozied up to trump. as for electric cars and the us space program, do the ends justify the means?
It is perhaps OK to be economically conservative—free markets and all that—however, Musk is obviously a white supremacist. That is extreme far right. He wants to have as many children and make as much money as possible so that he could have a white-people empire across the world—in his mind, of course. Of course he doesn’t believe in God or anything; so, his social conservativeness is primarily centered around white supremacy. It is something he inherited from South Africa, where he was born. The only reason why he was so concerned about the elections (the world will come to end if the Democrats win again) was all because of this—nonwhite people taking over white people, again in his mind, of course. He helped dismantle the government organizations to prevent that in his mind.
