Hey, I'm sorry if this has already been posted, but does anyone know of a way to manually (without putting the car in reverse) to switch to the backup cam?

I know this sounds pointless but I think it would be cool to take a look behind you while going 45 or so. Anyway, does anyone know a trick to o this? Thanks.

I think this sounds like a great idea! I don't have an answer, but I will stay tuned for someone who does have an answer.

I believe this topic has been discussed here and on POL and I'm pretty sure the answer in NO it cannot be changed.

I think it's prudent to watch the road ahead when driving rather than the MFD. You have a rearview mirror if you want to look behind you when driving.

The only problem with using the rear-view mirror is that only the driver can see it. That too takes your eyes off the road ahead. Granted there isn't a whole lot of value in seeing the view out of the camera, it would still be an interesting capability.

I suspect (no, I am sure) that there is a way to tap into the video signal, but I sure wouldn't want to be the one to fiddle with the harness at the risk of "voiding the warranty."

Oops, just saw Danny's reply. Thanks Danny.

Yup, these are the directions I followed. I've had this switch installed for almost a year now and it works great.
