This question didn't seem to exactly fit elsewhere, so I put it in here. On my very short list of things I would have done differently is the horn. It really is embarrassing. Has anyone changed it out for one that sounds more authoritative? Where can a real horn be located?
    Thanks,
    Ray

Personally, I think the horn is great! Way louder and more authoritative than my Nissan Maxima horn... Which sounded like a cow getting run over by a tractor.

Woo! "Two-tone European Police Air Horn" -- that should do it! :)

Actually, what I really want is one that I can program with individual digitized sounds.

I'd really like to have it play Charlton Heston's "BEHOLD!" from The Ten Commandments.

I want mine to play Dixie like the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard. Yee-haw!

In my humble opinion, everything about this car, including the horn, shows character and uniqueness. Why would I want it to sound like a common Chevrolet.

On a Prius, I think this is the very definition of "sending a mixed message". :D

Question: for those of us still without Prii, could someone either point us to, or upload, a .wav or .mp3 file with the '04 Prius horn sound?

I can't imagine it would be a very large file.

LOL... depends on how long you hold the horn button down...

personally, i love the sound of the two-note GM horns from the 60's. but i don't think you can just wire 'em in... something about plus/minus grounding, high-current horn relays needed, and the like....

After nearly trading paint on more than one occasion...I upgraded to PIAA's 115db Sports Horn's raucous roar....people actually "hear " me now!
Cheap too! Only $45.00 - a lot cheaper than a deductable being paid :guns: :)
Go to www.piaa.com for a dealer near you

....sometimes it is better to sound a "bit" bigger

I tried this but was unable to find a horn made by PIAA. They seem to only carry lights and wipers, according to their website and the dealer I spoke with. do you perhaps know a part number we could reference?

So, does it fit OK where a Prius horn is?...
