Sorry im french native so my english is not alway easy to read but i do my best.

Hi Just bought a Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon) five wagon 2013 with 26k miles(41k kilometre). was owner of a HCH 2008 for 5 years, bought it with 55k miles and it was now 111 miles. all in all it was a good car reliable I only change the 12volt batterie once and regular oil change in all those years. Honda need a main batterie 4000$, spark plug, coil, 500$ and a maintenance code of 550$, + new tire next years, and brake soon and transmission was beginning to make me nervous at 5000K a pup so I decide it was time to get rid of it. That car was economic but you have to work hard to get it to do something under 43mpg. The drawback to this car is the back seat are fix the battery are in the back seat so impossible move them down an carry anything longer than 4 foot. The rest seem all good because I never try a Prius before but now that I have my Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon) for a week I should have done the move long time ago! Honda transmission CVT really suck not smooth to engage and easy to slip when you go from stop on a steep hill. IMA battery is crap and electric engine way to small so alway on engine. Motor shut off only when you dont move at all, even when you slow down engine is running. that make for a really poor trafic car. Also battery drain very fast in stop and go and you are left with a very sluggish car. all this I thought was normal but now im in love with my Prius v wagon.

First all the space wow that car is huge!!!!! Then the economy is so much easier to get. I was not expecting more than the honda as the car is big and we are in winter with very small commute but wow I got 52 mpg (4.5l100) in this week 110 kilometre on the computer and this is with winter tire and cold temp! Im also really impress it is so easy to get good mileage with this car, the transmission is smooth no slip at all the car is stiff and fully loaded. battery and electric motor is so efficient make it even economic it the worst trafic honestly im impress this car is night and day compare to my HCH

Good move! Our last car was an 06 Civic Hybrid, it's still in the family, I get to drive it every once in a while, a night-and-day difference from the Prius.

Well, OK, the Honda isn't a Prius, but now describe the interior comfort, the outward view, the seats, how noisy was the ride, driving a Prius is like driving a 51' ford pickup, loud and harsh.

Because the post was not realy to talk all i hate from the civic but mostly how I love my Prius but if you need more torture.......
Can't talk about your Prius we have different model I never try a lower case but my Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon) is better in everything vs my civic.... more confortable, better view, better equipment, better performance, better seat, better feel, more smooth, more silent, better look do you need more? honestly I dont see even one point where my honda could win except for price.......they are simply not in the same league Add to this honda lost so much value it did not even worth cost of repair! ........if the prius is a 51 pick sorry yea then the Honda is a Ford 31 :)

in fact now that i get rid of it I was not even confortable selling the civic to someone so I give it in exchange to dealer and warn them the salesman......conclusion Im pretty sure this was my last honda car ever

I liked the civic dash. Oh, and it slightly under reported mpg. Uh, that's about it.

Congrats and welcome to PriusChat! Félicitations et bienvenue à PriusChat!

Looks like you have a Touring or a Touring + Tech package (Depending on whether you have radar cruise control or not)

Almost lol. I think it's intentional so to make cross-border comparisons more difficult (and thus cross-border shopping of these vehicles. The number of U.S. spec Prius cabs here is astounding - given that in 2010 it cost US$22,000 and in Canada it was $27,600, you can see why, even after the 6.1% import duty)

For the v, the panoramic roof was available on all except the base model for 2012. For 2013, they dropped the roof from the luxury package and lowered the price (presumably for taxi purposes - it's cheaper for the taxi driver to buy and there's a solid roof to mount the sign).

To the casual observer in the U.S., it looks like you bought the top model (the panoramic roof is available only on the Five as an option. One cannot get the roof on a lower trim v)

Welcome, we have a Touring too. You have the 17in 50 series tires as well? These are great cars you will enjoy it even more in the summer.
