Except that getting a new vehicle can be challenging, and many are over MSRP.

what if $17,000 is all I can afford?
I know, I’m screwed. What else is new?
    Twas ever thus

we live in a world based on survival of the fittest.
I haven’t seen anyone able to solve the problem

Yep, if it wasn't so hard to buy a new car these days, used car prices wouldn't be so high.

So I asked Kelly about my Tesla:

They did not ask about Full Self Driving which costs $15,000 to replace.

'19 Rav4 hybrid bought new loaded $37,500 after 29k miles KBB says ~$36k trade in value.

I got a great deal on purchase and the Toyota supply chain shortages have made buying new ones now both difficult and expensive. The same car new today would be $42.8k plus distributor and dealer markup if you could find one. It has driver assist I have used for over half its miles. Nothing fancy, just takes care of the boring stretches.

Paid $2k in gas. $500 in oil charges. Normal insurance costs. Service at dealer 2 miles from home with free ride back home.

Will handle 4 golfers and their 4 cart bags safely, trash to the county trash drop off point, 3 55 gallon bags of lawn debris to the landfill. Space saver spare. Will handle NFL lineman sized son. None of those possible in a MY. Otherwise I'd buy one.

    Different cars for different needs.

Talked to three local Toyota dealers today. They are ready to deal, claim to be willing to discount from MSRP and say I will have a new car anywhere from today to two weeks from now.

Talking to them is different than buying. Please give us hard numbers and walkout pricing. I don’t believe until I see it.

Yep, it's inevitable result of the auto industry being # 1 in consumer complaints every year. Weather it's getting scammed on a repair bill, or on the purchase of new or used vehicles, the level of corruption is so out of control that people would rather buy upside down loans on a new car before their old one is paid off just to avoid all the corruption from the car repair crooks. So it make sense the the inevitable result of this madness is lots of people who get overwhelmed and can't pay back all their upside down car loans and so they get repossessed.

If you trade in to Tesla, they just remove it anyway.
