Using backup camera in drive

    We thought that the backup camera might be handy for lane changes on crowded freeways if there's some way to make it so it can turn on-- anybody done that? Thanks, Paula

    I'm assuming this probably voids at least part of the warranty? :p

    Only if the modification causes the failure of the part. They can't void your engine warranty if you make this mod, but they could void the MFD (backup screen) warranty if they believe that the mod made that part fail.

    I should add that the view from the backup camera is very wide angle and so it is very distorted. So it may not be something you want to trust when making a lane change (objects are closer than they appear).

    I'm contemplating making this mod, but haven't done it yet.
