Vacation Mileage 2008

    Hudson Valley
    Vehicle:
    2007 Prius
    NY to southern IN: 54.5 mpg. Route: Pennsylvania Turnpike and 75. Great weather all the way, mid 80's, low humidity/wind.
    Speed limit followed.

    Norhern IN to NY: 51.5mgp Route: Indiana Turnpike, 81 in Penn and 84 NY. Rain in Ohio, windy In the PA mountains and 91 degrees.
    70 mph average, we had to get the pets before closing time at the kennel.

    I've been getting my best mileage yet with the car this summer. My tank before vacation was 57.5. I have 18,000 + miles on now and got it March 07.

    I got similar mpg numbers when we travelled from PA. to the Cape. Some of the people who don't know anything about the Prius ask me if the car really does well on the highway...they seem surprised with the mpg report that I give them.
