Vehicle Intrustion Protection - VIP

    The 'Vehicle Intrusion Protection' (VIP) alarm system is shown on the accessories page for the Prius. Here's the link:

    I have a 2007 with package #5 which includes the Toyota Theft Deterrent system.

    From what I can tell the VIP system just ads glass breakage to the existing system.

    Did anyone ad the VIP protection to the existing Theft Deterrent System?

    ive been thinking about getting it, i hear prius cars are more likely
    to be smashed and grabbed, like getting your mfd stolen then someone
    actually taking the car

    i hear its a little cheaper if you shop around and buy the glass breakage sensor yourself, install it yourself, then go to the dealer to have it turned on with thier computer
