I question the legality of this - feedback from other buyers states that the seller is selling "copies", however he claims to be selling a Version 8.0 (Gen 4 - 2004-2005, and Gen 5 - 2006+) Nav DVD.

2004 to 2007 Lexus Toyota Nav DVD Ver 08.0 BRAND NEW - eBay (item 320241408704 end time Apr-27-08 19:35:38 PDT)

Anyone see these appear at dealerships? I'm still on a version 5.x and much has changed in my area, so this version seems rather compelling.

Is Version 8 the latest version? I thought it was 7.1...

I just asked the seller if they could do anything about the shipping charges and they responded "These cost $300+ at the dealer and you want me to do what?"

They are charging $49.99 for a DVDR (copy of the real thing) and are charging $19.95 for Priority Mail shipping (which costs $4.60). As if that isn't bad enough, they are charging $4.25 for insurance which costs $1.35.

Their feedback has been mostly good, people are saying the DVD's work but they are DVDRs and not factory DVDs.

When I had my BMW M5, I was a member of a NAV forum that helped new owners of cars and experienced owners to share the wealth. The folks driving the '08's would have the latest and greatest... Anyone interested?

That puts the mid-summer version of the NAV disk in the hands of the end of year '08 owners hands, which might be the 8.0 version.

The claim is that Ver 08.0 is 4/1/2008 vs. 07.1 being 6/2007.

According to Toyota, ver 8 isn't out yet. The lastes version came out in Nov 07. And no, it isn't legal to copy and sell copyrighted DVD's. Toyota wrote me and is investigating the seller. Don't think they will be sold for long, and there may be fines for those that bought the DVD from this seller.
