    SpeedRacer, I think it's a hint.
Obviously, you spend way too much time at the convenient store and rather than going to work, take the day off and catch a movie. I hear Sky Captain is interesting. :-D

Good Theory, but the Navi is made by an Australian company as far as I am aware.

Maybe you should try an auzzie voice Bruce

I don't have NAV, but I gather that the problem is that people enunciate too clearly. Yes, that sounds odd, but the NAV is programmed to understand a more normal, run-on kind of speech. Don't shout, and don't separate your words. Make sure there are no other noises in the car. Then speak in a normal voice, neither loud nor soft, towards the rear-view mirror, which is where the microphone is located.

    Why.....?

    Why o Why.....

does our Prius always want to show me Thai food places when it doesn't understand me.... even when I say commands without a single T in them...

Microphone is over your head (near the map light). DON'T LOOK AT IT when you speak.

The thingies on the rear view mirror are for the HomeLink garage door opener.

I have some experience, but no expertise. If I say "Go Home" it sets the guidance for Home (or the point I chose near it) half the time. The other times it likes to show me Golf Courses.

I've only had mine for a day and a half now so I don't have a lot of experience. However, when I was playing with it in the driveway, I said "Japanese food" and it put the two local Japanese restaraunts on the map.

I have found that the Voice Recognition system works very well. About 8 times out of 10 it works right on par.

I wish I could tell it to "Call One-Touch person #3" Too bad the telephone wasn't integrated into the Voice system.

It does really work though! That's the amazing thing. And, unlike most other expensive autos -MBZ, Infiniti, BMW; you DO NOT have to record your voice to "train" it.

    Kudos to Toyota
