I have two sets of unused wheel trim rings, and will send 7 of the 8 to those wanting them. I ask only that you pay cost of mailing/packaging.

USPS says the postage will be around $2.75-$3. It's the "mailers" I'm having a problem with, and if anyone knows where I can locate what I need, please PM me.

The rings are 16" diameter. The largest bubble-wrap mailers I can find are 14-1/4" x 20". Tried FedEx, UPS and several online vendors/mfg. There's only ONE that lists a size I can use, and I can't contact them until Mon. Don't want to use cardboard as it'll double mailing cost. If I can find what I want, mailers will probably cost about $1.50.

So your cost would be about $4.25-$4.75. I'd accept personal checks or postage stamps as payment.

The first 7 people to contact me will get them. PM me with an e-mail address so we can exchange mailing addresses.

Ah... you finally figured out what to do with them! :)

I gave mine to a friend who keeps hitting curbs, and swears they increase his mileage (though he doesn't even keep track - just "feels it.")

He hits the curbs? I have trouble getting less than a foot from the curb in the Prius because of its roundy shape

    :p

I just posted on the "Halloween Prius" thread how gauche those damn rings are.

I love the orange Prius body, but even I have limits...

no matter the color, removing them completely would be the best bet in this case.

Okay, here's a visual thought experiment. I shamelessly swiped a
pic of a Tideland from "benanderson"'s thread over at Priusonline,
    http://priusonline.com/viewtopic.php?t=7328 ... and GIMPed in
some black trim rings. This is at
    http://techno-fandom.org/~hobbit/pix/tide-black-rings-1.jpg
for your viewing pleasure. Whatcha think? Too ugly, like those
all-black ricer wheels, or reasonable? I tried to make it vaguely
match the "misty" appearance of the shot, but it might still be a
little too punchy/dark in this first attempt.
    .
FWIW, my rings are currently off the car and probably staying, unless
the collective consciousness determines a good visual use for them.

True, the car does look pretty snazzy without the rims. Hey, how about painting them white? That way it'd look like white wall tires. :D

Another photochop job, aka the "floating asterisks" look, as well
as an excuse to bump this thread [which really should be under
"appearance mods", but it came from a trim-rings discussion...]

It's way too tempting to make an animated gif out of the changes...

The black rings don't look like they belong on that color of car. If you had a black prius on the other hand... I think you just gave me an idea to try!
