Been thinking of dumping the joke factory fogs and adding some real fog lights. Don't know what's in there that's solid that I can work with. Don't want to just swap out the bulb, I think I'd need about ten of those little things to actually drive by, no matter what bulb is in them. Anyone got any pics of a Gen II without the front bumper cover?

I need something mechanically solid to tie into. If I can recess a little into the bumper that's a plus, since anything that sticks out in front of the bumper becomes the new bumper.

I was thinking of taking an entire headlight with the mounting cup off another car and transplanting it. I want to be able to aim it nicely and these "clamp on the bumper and swivel" lights don't cut it.

Hey wait a minute Tom! Isn't that a picture of Hailey's comet? :D Remember Hailey's comet was 'bust' years ago and could not be seen? So someone in my office put up a picture that was just a black background. Very cute! :) Marvinh

Reminds me of an old joke (Groucho maybe?)

Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read. :)

    (hello, dogfriend)

Yep, Groucho, king of the pun. "Can you get stucco? Oh can you get stucco." - The Coconuts. As relevant today as 1929.

Here's a pic of the mechanic installing the skid plate on my '07, and you can see a cross brace just to the right of his hand. Looks like it would support a couple of fog lights. By "real fog lights" I presume you're referring to something that improves visibility as opposed to just looking cool. High end KC, Hella, or the like are made to adjust and hold the adjustment, so not sure what you mean that the aftermarket lights "just don't cut it". Properly installed and adjusted, they're the best thing available. Just check out any serious rally car.
