This may seen like an odd question, but a few times my Prius battery has been in the "Green" area when I turn on my Prius, but yet the engine continues to run when first turned on. This always decreases my average MPH, which is quite annoying.

Why does the Hybrid do this and is there anyway to override the system so it only warms up if the battery is below "green"?

It does that b/c that's the way it's programmed. It can be avoided with an EV button.

I'd prefer to use the spot in the car that the European/Asian Priuses use for an EV button - not the Coastaltech mod that uses the Cruise Control.

If I can find someone that can install an EV button, I'd go for it in a heartbeat. I won't attempt it on my own.
