    Hello,

I've been the lucky owner of a Auris HSD luna since august last year.
I have the impression that the warmup stages (in the sticky) of the Prius III coincide exactly with the engine temp gauge in the Auris LCD display.

S1a would be lowest block, S1b the second, as the moment this one burns I clearly have engine power, but it almost never stops running.

S2 would be the third, S3 the fourth.

I need to double check, but the fifth block being the normal operating temp, I do think the idling check happens right before switching from four to five.

It seems on the Auris HSD there is a clear indication, as opposed to the Prius III ?
The only thing I'm missing is either a complete energy transfer display (the Auris never shows power from the engine to the battery or M1/M2) or an instant consumption meter combined with this graph (we have to choose, and than push 7-8 times on the DISP button to get to the other graph ...)

Is this car in production? The Toyota Europe site gives NO specifications for the hybrid model.

That is awesome! The temp gauge from Cold to Hot correlates to the stages of HSD operation.

It looks great. Did anyone notice the statement that "the sat nav system can also be fitted with a monitor* that shows images from the rear-view camera."?
I want one ... too bad it is not available here. I also noticed that it is made in the UK. Does that mean that Toyota will be building hybrids here as well?

Seems the Auris would be a good fit here and it gets better econ than the prius, maybe that is why they don't sell it here?

That's the idiotic european average consumption figures...

My dad has a Prius III, and while he does not get at our consumption, it is easier for me to get good mpg in his car than in our Auris - at highway speeds.
(last winter, which was very cold, too many short trips = 42 mpg US / lately it is warmer and we are almost at 50 mpg US, calculated)

They are equally heavy, but the Prius does have a considerably better drag coefficient.

If I had to guess, I'd say I can drive 10Km/h quicker in his car and arrive at the same consumption.

I was comparing the idiotic euro consumption 74 something auris, 72 something prius.

Makes sense what you say about the hwy though, Prius is way more aerodynamic. But the Auris is "normal" and would probably sell well here.

The Auris looks pretty similar to the Prius C concept. Just sayin'....

Its bigger though. The same site has the "yaris hybrid" which is our C.

If you look at the Auris it seems to have a very similar front area even up to the pillar but turns into a normal hatchback after. Again I think it would be popular here.
