A Toyota salesperson recently suggested that having an XM installed by other than a toyota service facility would impact the warranty. My wife took this as "truth" and is very concerned about my installing the Toyota XM module made for the Camry/Solara. I have read so many success stories on this site that I am hard pressed to believe that the warranty is at risk.

Can someone lead me to a certified (not certifiable) source that could say this is or is not the case??

I'd sincerely doubt it, unless it could be shown that the installation caused the breakage. Wouldn't be any harder than adding an amp or a sub. Easier even, as its almost plug and play. If the installation did cause a problem, then the installer would be responsible and would pay for the damage.
