    hi all

    just bought a 2007 prius

debating getting the 7year/100,000 warranty. if in 2/3 years the uber-prius is supposed to come out, should i maybe not get the warranty and upgrade at that time? .... lets put it another way, if i AM considering upgrading in less that 3 years, should i not spend 1k on the warranty, or will it make my resale 1k more attractive so i should just get the warranty in case i dont get the new 2010 prius....

thanks for any opinions on this.

Depends on how many miles you put on it in 3 years. You have 36k miles to make the decision.

You're better off waiting. If you do getthe warranty now, then decide to upgrade, the warranty refund will be prorated. Even if you don't go over 3years/36000miles.

Yep, just wait. You can purchase the warranty any time while its within the original warranty.

sounds good... maybe the only downside would be missing out on the "perks" of the 7yr warranty like getting a rental in case of any work on the car etc., but it will be brand new, so that wont be so much a gamble... thanks for advice.
