Waste Coal to Fuel Conversion

    This process was developed and successfully utilized by the Germans in WWII. I have not found what the environmental downside is -- but I suspect it has its share.

    If this actually becomes viable due to the rising cost of crude oil, what would the impact of this process be on the United States?
