On my Gen 3, I have solved the problem of my waterfall console rattling by going old school; not high tech... Check out the picture! I cut a piece of wood the perfect length to wedge it into the perfect spot, and NO MORE RATTLES!!!

Seems crazy to have to do this on my brand new $34k car... so; does anyone have any better suggestions?

Now that you've done the leg-work, maybe have the dealer fix it?

Can't you just put some teflon tape in certain areas?

I did this - place some grey fabric/felt and wedged it in the console crevice. Doesn't look "great" but it does the job.

Did you pul the console apart to do that, or just shove it in the crack?

Just forced it in there, it can only go so far, maybe an inch or so. I suppose if you wanted it to be not visible you could cut up some fabric and make it only an inch long or so. I used the same tough fabric that I used for my cargo liner that I cut out to fit the cargo area, so its easy to wiggle into there.

    Thanks for all your help

i put the wood in there for a temporary fix until the dealer can actually look at it.

curious how the wood would void a warranty? it is just wedged in there; no screws or anything. When i bring the car back in to the dealership, I will take the wood out and ask them to address

    Appreciate all your thoughts though

    Dave

It's a joke. Whenever the car goes in for warranty work the SM claims the aftermarket equipment voids the warranty so the owner has to pay big bucks for the fix.

Thanks, I'll try it tomorrow myself. Now we need a fix for the glove boxes and the center console box.
