About as often as you wax your moustache.

most waxes state how long they are good for. generally if it says it'll last for one year, i'd say wax it every six months. me personally? i use zaino about every three months,. it's supposed to last up to a year, if i remember correctly.

I have taken to waxing my car after most washings with Turtle Wax 1-Step Spray & Dry Car Wax.

It's meant to maintain the gloss and protection of your wax job. It's been three months since I did a strip and wax. With this stuff the car is still as shiny as the day I did the last major wax job. The surface is still slippery when I lightly hand buff out the residue left by this product - so it's really a 2-Step process. I'm impressed with it as an inbetween wax job maintainer, and I know the car has better protection.

Of course the Zaino folks are probably rolling their eyes in disgust.

That's like asking "How long is a piece of string?"

It's going to depend on what product you use, and what kind of finish you're trying to maintain.

At opposite ends of the longevity scale are carnauba wax (short life), and premium sealants (Zaino and Klasse SG for example). Common indicators used to signal the time to rewax are 1) loss of slickness, 2) loss of beading, or 3) complete loss of product.

Depending on what your car is exposed to every day, rewax times look something like the following:

    Pure Carnauba Wax
    Loss of slickness: 3 weeks
    Loss of beading: 6 weeks
Complete loss of product: 12 weeks

    Zaino/Klasse SG
    Loss of slickness: 8 weeks
    Loss of beading: 16 weeks
Complete loss of product: 26-40 weeks

How long *is* a piece of string?

You should wax your prius about 3 times as often as you drive a Hummer.

Well, if you're not married, and young, you probably should be waxing your Prius every couple of days to keep it shiny and new looking. You don't want the dirt and grime to build up on the car or it can cause a condition known as Blue Prius. It's painful, uh, I mean it's painful to look at. A dirty Prius is never a laughing matter.

Good luck waxing your Prius! Remember always wax back and forth never circular. :)

What's wrong with combining circular motions with back and forth when waxing my Prius?

Eyeguy- is there any truth to the rumor that excessive waxing of your Prius can lead to blindness?

Good question! I heard a rumor that "excessive waxing of your Prius" can cause hair to grow out of the palms of your hand(s). Any truth to THIS rumor?

If you live in a gay marriage state, don't worry about it - your wife is male. If not, buy her a subaru and take her straight to the Women's Studies Department of your nearest college. Then start looking - - -

    Check for unexpected "optional equipment".

If you find any, return "her" for a refund.
